Poland Holiday Packages – Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does the Baltic Travel Company offer both guided and tailor-made Poland holidays?

We’re pleased to offer a unique combination of set itineraries, ready to pack your bags and go, and fully tailor-made Poland holidays where you can design your perfect getaway. We recognise that some travellers prefer escorted tours that incorporate all of Poland’s key cultural and historical highlights, while others opt for bespoke itineraries built around their interests, preferred pace, and selected regions. Whether you’re planning a culture and shopping-packed city trip, a journey to immerse yourself in Polish nature, or a multi-country itinerary to see as much of Central Europe as you can, our specialists can design a holiday in Poland to suit you.

2. What are the must-see highlights on a Poland holiday?

Poland is rich in history, culture, and scenery, and the attractions and sites most relevant to you may depend on the type of holiday you most love!. For many, highlights include Kraków’s beautifully preserved Old Town, Warsaw’s historic centre, the Baltic port city of Gdansk, and the mountain landscapes around Zakopane. Many travellers also visit key heritage sites, including the reflective and sombre Auschwitz-Birkenau, ancient medieval castles, and the national parks across the country.

3. Are city breaks a good way to explore Poland?

Of course, city breaks are one of the most popular ways to experience Poland. Cities like Kraków, Warsaw, and Gdansk offer a strong mix of history, architecture, museums, and fine dining, making them ideal locations for short cultural escapes. Many guests start with a Kraków city break before extending their trip to other regions.

4. Can I combine Poland’s cities with nature and mountain regions?

Absolutely. Poland is ideal for travellers who want both culture and scenery in one trip. A popular option is to combine Kraków with excursions into the nearby mountains, where scenic landscapes and outdoor experiences offer a contrast to city sightseeing, such as a journey linking Kraków to the Tatra Mountains.

5. Does the Baltic Travel Company offer escorted tours covering multiple regions of Poland?

We offer escorted itineraries that explore multiple regions in a single well-paced journey, ideal for first-time visitors. These tours typically include one or two major cities, the most significant cultural landmarks, and mesmerising historical sites, providing a comprehensive introduction to the country. Our classic highlights of Poland tour is a great example of a multi-stop itinerary!

6. Can Poland be combined with neighbouring countries in one holiday?

Yes! Poland works very well as part of a multi-country package, particularly when combined with neighbouring destinations in Central and Eastern Europe, where journey times are easily manageable. Travellers looking to broaden their experiences might choose routes that connect Poland with the Baltics, with the Poland and Lithuania highlights journey a high-demand package.

7. When is the best time to visit Poland?

The best time to visit Poland will depend heavily on your interests and the type of weather you most enjoy. Spring and autumn are amazing times for cultural sightseeing and city breaks, with milder temperatures and fewer crowds. Summer, in contrast, is popular for coastal travel, beachside escapes and exploring Poland’s countryside, while winter is the best period for festive city breaks, world-class Christmas markets, and snowy mountain scenery.

8. Are Polish holidays suitable for spa, wellness, or relaxation breaks?

Definitely, Poland has both traditional and modern spas, with a longstanding tradition of wellness resorts, particularly along the Baltic coast and in historic spa towns. Guests looking for relaxation enjoy coastal spa stays that combine comfort, wellness facilities, and scenic surroundings, such as a stay at a spa hotel on the Baltic coast.

9. What type of accommodation is included in Poland holiday packages?

Accommodation varies by itinerary, and you’ll find all the details about hotels, lodges and guest houses within each package. As an idea, this typically includes centrally located boutique city hotels, comfortable rustic countryside properties, and luxuriously indulgent spa hotels. We focus on quality, location, and character to ensure that each enhances your overall travel experience.

10. Are Polish holidays suitable for couples, families, or groups?

Poland holidays are equally fabulous for all guests, including couples, families with little ones, and small groups. City sightseeing, cultural tours, and photography or nature-spotting travel tours offer something for all ages, and our itineraries can be adapted to suit different travel styles and group sizes.

11. What kind of experiences are included in Poland travel packages?

You’ll find a huge variety of experiences in Poland! They can include guided city tours, historical and cultural visits, scenic rail or road travel, and time to explore independently at your own pace. Some itineraries also feature outdoor hiking and countryside tours, coastal travel experiences, or visits to the mountain regions far from the beaten track.

12. What kind of support can I expect during my Poland holiday?

All of the Poland holidays organised by the Baltic Travel Company include full support before and during your trip. You’ll receive a detailed itinerary itemising all of your accommodation and transfer details, and will have sustained access to 24/7 emergency assistance for complete peace of mind.

13. Will I receive a quote and itinerary before booking?

You certainly will. Once you submit an enquiry, our team will begin preparing a personalised quote and a detailed itinerary. We’ll typically have this to you within 24 hours, giving you plenty of time to review the arrangements before confirming.

14. Are Polish holiday packages financially protected?

Reviews of Poland Holiday Packages: Set Travel Tours & Tailor-Made Vacations

June 2024
Overall rating: (5/5)

The trip was fantastic. By virtue of a tour guide from Poland office (Marta at Forum?) and another from the local area (two guides in total), we benefited from the culture and grand history of the Polish country. Hotels were well planned and great quality. Itinerary and schedule well planned and executed without change.

The tours were long and walking a challenge for two of our seniors, but Poland office guide (Marta) adapted by adjusting the walking and added more rest stops. Marta, in particular, was patient and considerate and attentive of our group needs.

I would rate the Baltic Travel planning and execution of Poland tour five star. Thank you. Mike

Hi Laura, we had the best time! First morning on board - sorry, can't land, there's a polar bear out there. Distant, but within range of my camera. Same afternoon - there's a mother out there, with two cubs chilling out in the snow. The mother was eating a walrus. We also got a good view of an arctic fox, and the biggest pod of walruses they had ever seen - 200, or thereabouts. We had great weather. Although the cabins were very cramped, everything else was fantastic- the food, the guides, the other passengers (only 50 of them!) We had a marvellous holiday, but very busy at the moment catching up with everything, and will post reviews in a few days time. I attach some photos - terrific trip. Thanks, Elizabeth

Good morning Daina,

Once again an excellent trip, the hotel was really lovely, the pick up service airport/hotel/airport also very good, thank you!

I’m sending you a lot of photos this time, do with them what you will.

We walked miles and miles and I think visited every synagogue there was! Krakow is a beautiful place. Auschwitz/Birkenau was incredible, so poignant, and moving, I’m really glad we went ( glad isn’t the correct word but you know what I mean), just an incredible place. It was the highlight of the trip, again probably not the best word but you understand. Our guides were excellent on both the Auschwitz trip and the Salt mines. Saw the castle and the Museum of Jewish History also so basically nearly everything. I’d like to have explored the Old Town a bit more, but we didn’t really have time.

The Old Town and Jewish quarter really interesting, we enjoyed the underground walks around the medieval city under the Sukiennice, it was incredible. We went to Schindler’s factory, also very interesting although more about Krakow and the Jews than Oskar Schindler, but still worth the visit. In the Ghetto we visited a fascinating museum which was in a pharmacy, Tadeusza Pankiewicz’s Pharmacy, which played a big role in the life of the ghetto, and also found some remnants of the original wall built by the Nazis around the ghetto, all very interesting.

It wasn’t too crowded for Easter, really, although Schindler’s factory was a tight squeeze at times with lots of tour parties and school parties, the Salt mines, we saw practically no-one. We ate lovely food, Polish, Israeli, Jewish and my favourite was a small Ukrainian restaurant which we found with home cooking and profits going to Ukraine. Lots of cake and hot chocolate too.

Thank you again and I’m sure I‘ll be in touch again about a new trip!

Best wishes,

Trish

Hi Laura,

Thanks for your e-mail.

We had a very enjoyable tour. The group was relatively small (18 people) and we all got on very well.

The hotels were good to very good, centrally located and offering excellent breakfasts. The only exception was Mercure Torun Central. The bathroom didn’t have a shower curtain and there was no hot water during our overnight stay so we ended up having cold showers in a very wet, slippery and messy bathroom.

The sights were very interesting and exceeded our expectations.

The tour guide (Renata), though fairly knowledgeable, was not the friendliest and didn’t really engage with the group. She seemed to do the minimum required of her and at times was rather unpleasant with some of the group members. The other local guides we had were very good.

The driver (Wukash? I think!) was excellent.

As for photos, unfortunately it’s my husband who takes them with his fancy camera. I’ll try to forward some whenever he gets around to downloading them on the PC.
We will definitely use your company in the future if it covers destinations we’re interested in.
Best regards

Malak

Hi Inga

We have just returned from our trip to Poland and here is the feedback.

The trip was excellent in very detail. We have no complaints at all. The itinerary was full and extensive. We managed to pack in a great deal. All the visits in the different locations were very well managed. The local guides in all places were very well informed, courteous and clear. Their English was perfect.

The hotels we stayed in were top class - all 4 star- and offered excellent facilities. The breakfasts were enormous. There were quite a few groups in the hotels and we followed some of them around for the whole of the trip.

We did not see, however, any other English groups - they were mainly French, Spanish and Italian.

Our group was small - only eight persons - 5 Americans, one Irish and ourselves. We had a small but brand newl coach and an excellent driver. We had sufficient stops for coffee and toilet breaks.

We must particularly mention our tour leader - Martha - who attended to every detail, no matter how small. Her English was excellent. Her manner was friendly but authoritative.

My wife enjoyed it particularly. She was able to practise Polish for the first time in 50 years. She was quite fluent by the end of the trip. We found the Poles very welcoming. The roads were excellent ( better than the UK) and the standard of living has increased greatly since my last visit about 15 years ago.

It would perhaps have been better if the trip cold have been extended to say 10 days. This would have given us more time in certain places - in particular Gdansk and Cracow. Still we may return for a mini break to Gdansk - long weekend perhaps with some of our children and relatives.

We heartily thank you for a wonderful holiday - packed with activities but very worth while.

Cheers

John and Danuta C
