Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Bergen

Upon arrival in Bergen take the Flybus shuttle bus or a taxi to your hotel. Bergen is Norway’s second largest city, and the world’s only city surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords. Due to its proximity to the fjords, Bergen is understandably known as the Gateway to the Fjords. Sights of interest include the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbour, Fløibanen Funicular, Troldhaugen, the Fish & Flower Market, Bergen Aquarium and Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen Open Air Museum).

Day 2: Bergen –  Ulriken

An authorized local guide will join you on a 3-hour guided tour by foot around the city of Bergen. You will visit the Fish & Flower Market, St. Mary’s Church, the Hanseatic Museum and the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbour.
No entrances have been included on this tour, but are available upon request.

Ulriken 643 Panorama Tour takes you by cable car up into the Ulriken mountain near the city centre. From the viewing platform, you have uninterrupted panoramic views of Bergen and the sea, fjords and mountains that surround the city. Subject to weather conditions.

Ulriken can be reached by bus from the city centre – not included in the package price.

Day 3: Bergen –  Mostraumen (Fjordcruise)

Experience the fjords, mountains and waterfalls - all year round! On the way from Bergen the guests will have a good view of the famous Bryggen and the old city of Bergen. Furthermore, we sail under Nordhordalandsbrua and on the Osterfjord. When we approach Mostraumen the fjord gets narrower and the guests are surrounded by steep mountains. We sail past several waterfalls, and if you are lucky, we will try to collect a sample of the fresh mountain water for the guests to taste. On the return, we sail around Osterøy. We make a stop by a waterfall called Heskjedalsfossen, which is a beautiful twin waterfall and a popular spot to take pictures. The tour then continues back to Bergen. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area, and we can often see seals, goats and eagles! This fjord cruise takes 3.5 hours. In the low season (October-April) the 10:00 a.m. departure will have a duration of 3 hours. The tour goes directly to Mostraumen and back to Bergen, and does not include the tour around Osterøy.

Day 4: Floibanen and departure

The Fløibanen funicular in Bergen is one of Norway’s best-known attractions. Fløibanen can be found in the heart of Bergen, 150 m from Fisketorget – the fish market – and Bryggen wharf, and it takes just 10 minutes to walk to the lower station from where the cruise ships dock along Bryggen. The journey up to Fløyen (320 m above sea level) takes 5–8 minutes and is an experience in itself. At the top, you can enjoy fantastic views over Bergen.

There are endless opportunities for walks on Fløyen, and you will also find a cafe, restaurant and children’s playground. The funicular runs daily all year round from early morning to late evening.

In the afternoon, take the Flybus shuttle bus back to Bergen Airport for your return flight.

Package Includes:

  • Direct flights from London Gatwick to Bergen and return (only for option including flights)
  • 1 piece of check-in luggage per traveler (up to 20 kg)
  • 3 nights’ accommodation in Bergen
