Overview:
.This is the best way to visit Priekstolen and to enjoy a Cruise from Stavanger to Forsand at the edge of Lyseford. There are a number of ways to combine this trip with a longer visit to Norway and we can arrange with direct flights from Gatwick or with via Oslo from other airports. You can also combine with a Norway in a Nutshell trip or as part of a tailor-made trip to Norway.
The Preikstolen element starts and ends in Stavanger and we can fly you from Gatwick and finish with a scenic train ride to Oslo or coastal bus journey to Bergen.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Stavanger
Arrival in Stavanger Sola Airport, Buy a return Flybussen ticket (NOK313/approx £27) on board or pre-book for you depart. If you'd prefer a taxi, please let one our sales team know and we can add for an extra cost.
Check-in to your hotel for your three night stay.
Day 2: Lysefjord in a Nutshell
After breakfast, make your way to the quayside to board the vessel that will sail you to Forsand at the ocean end of Lysefjord.
The vessel departs at 10:00 and sails along the southern coast of Norway where it arrives at Forsand at 12:30. You can purchase drinks and snacks as you enjoy the coastal cruise along southern Norway and into the mouth of Lysefjord.
After disembarking from the vessel you will be taken the rest of the way to Preikstolen Base Camp by coach. Departure time is 12:35 and arrival is 13:05. On arrival at the Basecamp you will find toilets a cafe and restaurant.
The walk to Priekstolen takes around 5 hours round trip and is suitable for anyone of a general fitness ability. We recommend being prepared for sun, wind and rain. Please be prepared! We also advise taking a packed lunch, snacks and water. The walk is a mixture of stone path, woodland and bare granite. Walking boots or shoes are essential.
Although the walk can be attempted by anyone with a general level of fitness, you can also arrange a guide to accompany you and show you some of the less trodden paths as well as give you some background about Priekstolen and Lysefjord. Please ask the team for the cost and availability.
The bus returns to Stavanger at 18:15 and you need to ensure that you are back in time. You will arrive back in Stavanger at 19:00 after travelling through the Ryfylke Tunnel which is the longest sub sea tunnel in the world.

Day 3: Explore Stavanger
Today you could explore Stavanger and discover the old town (Gamle Stavanger) and it's collection of white wooden houses. You might like to visit the cathedral which is the oldest in Norway, or take a bus to Sverd i Fjell which marks the spot where warring nobles united and brought an end to the Norse era. On Saturdays you will find Parkrun at Mosvatnet which is a walk,jog or short bus ride out of town. There's also an Oil Museum and a trendy Sauna start up amongst other places to discover.
Day 4: Depart Stavanger
After breakfast, take the airport bus back to Stavanger Airport to fly home.
