Overview:

This cycling tour takes you to the Turku archipelago consisting of 20 000 islands between the city of Turku and the Åland Islands in the South-West Finland. Cycle on the ring road which allows you to access the main islands easily by local ferries taking travellers from island to island. On the way you get to see charming houses and harbour villages as well as breath taking scenery. Join this tour to bring the mother nature just outside your doorstep!

Package price is £1,735 per person based on availability and two people sharing a standard twin or double room. Single supplement is £660.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Helsinki

Upon arrival you will check into the hotel in the city centre before having a relaxing afternoon in Finland's dynamic capital city. 

Overnight in Helsinki incl. breakfast

Day 2: Helsinki – Turku (train)

After travelling by train from Helsinki, take some time to explore this coastal city in the south-west of Finland. It has a vibrant summer scene with many bars and restaurants to try, as well as some historical sites such as the medieval castle and cathedral. 

Overnight in Turku centre incl. breakfast.

Day 3: Turku - Nauvo (57 km + ferries)

Collect your bicycles and ride north-west and out into the countryside. The day’s journey ends with 2 short ferry hops to your overnight island
accommodation surrounded by the archipelago. Overnight in Velkua (breakfast)

Collect your bicycles and ride south-east out of the city. A fine system of Bike Lanes keeps you out of the traffic as you head into the archipelago. One short ferry trip brings you to the island of Nauvo for an overnight by the sea.

Day 4: Nauvo - Houtskar (38 km + ferries)

A choice of routes takes you across a coupel of islands to Houtskar. An excellent dinner is included tonight in the hotel's top-rated restaurant.

Day 5: Houtskar - Korpo (20km + ferry between hotels, + additional cycling according to own wishes)

There is one relaxing ferry journey today between 2 of the biggest of the archipelago islands. Its 20 km riding distance between the overnight hotels but there are various possible ways to get extra cylcing in for those who wish. Dinner tonight is a 5-course local tasting menu in the highly-regarded hotel restaurant. 

Overnight on Korpo island incl. breakfast and dinner.

Day 6: Korpo - Naantali (57 km + ferries)

Returning to Nauvo, the main archipelago island, take the ferry north back to the mainland and continue by bike to Naantali, an idyllic harbour village of cobbled streets and old wooden houses. There is a great selection of local restaurants to choose from for dinner. 

Overnight in Naantali incl. breakfast

Day 7: Naantali – Turku  (17 km)

On your final full day, you can conitnue to explore Naantali before cycling the short way back to Turku where you will return your bicycles and stay again for the night.  

Overnight in Turku centre incl. breakfast.

Day 8: Turku – Helsinki (train)

Return to Helsinki by train after a last breakfast in Turku and then make your way to the airport by train or taxi for your flight home.

- Suitcases can be left without charge at the start/end hotel. Panniers are spacious, or you can choose to have luggage transferred for a supplement.

- This is a self-guided cycling tour. Each guest receives full route as downloadable .GPX files plus a Route Information Leaflet including ferry timings. There is no guide included. On most departures there will be other guests cycling.
