See the Northern Lights in Russia, like in the film 'The Polar Express', on this luxury train leaving from St. Petersburg. This also gives you the chance to explore the beautiful St. Petersburg before you board, and arrive in Moscow, giving you the chance to see this amazing city too.
Seeing the Northern Lights from a Luxury Train is obviously an amazing experience. You will combine seeing the stunning Northern Lights with a trip to the city of St. Petersburg. The city is crowded with splendid palaces, impressive historical monuments, wide boulevards, beautiful bridges, and it is renowned as the Ballet Capital of the World. You can also enjoy the busy Christmas Markets (the Russian Orthodox Christmas is a week later than in the traditional Christmas), and ice skating if you should wish to. There is also time for some culture, which you can enjoy at the world-renowned Marinsky Theatre, the Hermitage, Nevsky Prospect and so much more.
On New Years Eve you board the train, and you can follow the landscape from your window as we head towards Murmansk. Hopefully you shall see the Northern Lights on route, and you will also be able to see Arkhangel, Velikiy Ustyug, Vladimir and Suzdal, whilst enjoying excellent food and beverages.
You will then arrive at Moscow Kazanskiy station, and transfer to the local five-star Marriott Royal Aurora Hotel ( or similar ). You are then free to explore Moscow's attractions such as the Kremlin, The Red Square, The Treasures of the Tsars in the Armoury Chamber, St. Basil's Cathedral, State Tretyakov Gallery. You will return from there.
