Enjoy the most magnificent locations of Norway on this exclusive fjord tour. Experience the stunning scenery of the majestic Geirangerfjord and the famous Sognefjord, explore Bergen and the capital of Norway, Oslo. With 2 nights at historical Kvikne’s Hotel by the Sognefjord, you’ll have a full day of relaxation or sightseeing in the heart of the Fjords region.

Holiday price is from £ 3,055 per person based on availability and 2 persons sharing a standard double/twin room. Single supplement is £ 810.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Welcome to Bergen

Arrival in Bergen according to your own schedule and transfer on your own to your hotel. Your tour escort will meet you in the hotel lobby at 19:00 hrs for a short introduction.

Dinner on your own in Bergen. Accommodation at Skostredet Hotel & Spa, located right in the middle of the city.

Day 2: Bergen – Sognefjord - Balestrand

After breakfast, enjoy a 2 hours city sightseeing tour of Bergen with a local guide, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled packhouses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter. After the city tour, you’ll go on a return ride on the Bergen Funicular to the top of Mount Fløien. Enjoy great views over the fjords and mountains surrounding the city of Bergen. Continue north by coach to Oppedal for the short ferry crossing to Lavik. Drive along the Sognefjord to the beautiful resort of Balestrand.

Dinner and accommodation in superior rooms at Kvikne’s Hotel, superbly located on the banks of the Sognefjord and surrounded by mountains.

Day 3: Balestrand - a day in the Fjords

Day free in Balestrand, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding beauty and nature of the fjords. The day starts with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room. You may want to spend the morning relaxing on the hotel terrace, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the spectacular views. We can also recommend a visit to the local aquarium and art gallery, or you may prefer to rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel, or even go on foot up to the nearest mountains. A walking tour of the village of Balestrand, with its historic buildings and other interesting sites can also be arranged.

Day 4: Balestrand - Loen

After breakfast, departure from your hotel by ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, followed by a scenic tour along the northern side of the Sognefjord to Sogndal. The tour continues by road to Fjærland, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei at the northern end of beautiful Lake Jølster. Descend to the Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. Lunch at a local restaurant, before making the excursion up to the glacier by open cars– “Troll cars”- to the stand about 700 m away from the glacier. You will have a nice walk to the glacier, before returning by Troll cars. Return to Olden and arrive in Loen, a small village situated by the fjord, surrounded by majestic mountains and green hills.

Day 5: Loen – Geiranger - Lillehammer

Breakfast at your hotel before departure by coach to Hellesylt. Enjoy a cruise on the Geirangerfjord, one of the narrowest fjords in Norway, from Hellesylt to Geiranger. The Geirangerfjord is one of the most famous fjords in the world and has been a part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2005. Surrounded by deep blue water and green valleys, you will also experience magnificent waterfalls such as the "Seven Sisters" and the "Bridal Veil". Lunch in Geiranger. Discover the roads that twist and turn through one hairpin bend after another to Geiranger Skywalk- Mt. Dalsnibba- to experience a panoramic view of one of the most scenically outstanding fjord areas on the planet (weather permitting). Your journey continues to Lom, well known for its 14th century stave church, before descending the magnificent Gudbrands Valley to the charming town of Lillehammer.

Day 6: Lillehammer - Oslo

After breakfast, drive alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, and arrive in Oslo, the capital, situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord. Visit the Holmenkollen Ski Museum & Tower, where you’ll discover the world’s oldest ski museum, see exhibitions of the polar explorers and enjoy a great panoramic view of Oslo and the fjord. Drive back down to the city center for check-in at your hotel.

Dinner on your own in Oslo. Bed and breakfast accommodation at Thon Hotel Bristol, located in the city center.

Day 7: Departure from Oslo

Buffet breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your own schedule, if you have time free in the morning, we recommend a stroll along Aker Brygge, a lively pier with numerous restaurants and departures for sightseeing boats on the Oslo Fjord. Or, you might want to take a stroll through the new central city district Bjørvika and walk between Oslo’s latest architectural additions; the Deichman Library and Munch Museum. Transfer on your own to Oslo Airport- Gardermoen- in connection with your flight home.

Thanks for your email. We had a wonderful holiday both in Norway and Sweden. Unfortunately, it was not long enough. The entire guided tour in Norway was excellent with a very professional and caring guide.

Hotels in all locations were good too. I believe we made a very good choice. Weather was bonus too.
