Overview:
This cycling tour takes you to the Turku archipelago consisting of 20 000 islands between the city of Turku and the Åland Islands in the South-West Finland. Cycle on the ring road which allows you to access the main islands easily by local ferries taking travellers from island to island. On the way you get to see charming houses and harbour villages as well as breath taking scenery. Join this tour to bring the mother nature just outside your doorstep!
Package price is from £1,985 per person based on availability and two people sharing a standard twin or double room. Single supplement is £965.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Helsinki
Upon arrival you will check into the hotel in the city centre before having a relaxing afternoon in Finland's dynamic capital city.
Overnight in Helsinki incl. breakfast
Day 2: Helsinki – Turku (train)
Personal arrival to Turku, a bustling summer city on the south-west coast of Finland. There is a medieval castle and cathedral, linked by a river with cycling path. From a wide selection of bars, cafes, and restaurants, the pop-up food and drinks around the cathedral is a particular highlight.

Day 3: Turku - Nauvo (64 km + ferries)
Collect your bicycles and ride north-west and out into the countryside. The day’s journey ends with 2 short ferry hops to your overnight island
accommodation surrounded by the archipelago. Overnight in Velkua (breakfast)
Collect your bicycles and ride south-east out of the city. 64km + A fine system of dedicated Bicycle Lanes keeps you out of the traffic as you head into the archipelago. One short ferry brings you to the island of Nauvo for overnight stay by the sea. Your accommodation in the harbour area is surrounded by a selection of local places to eat and drink.

Day 4: Nauvo - Houtskar (40 km + ferries)
A choice of routes takes you across a couple of islands to Houtskär. Visit the local wooden church and take lunch in waterside local restaurant. We recommend guests to pre-book a private session in the hotel's sauna by the sea. We suggest a pre-dinner drink in the garden, before enjoying the excellent 5-course dinner tonight in the hotel’s top-rated restaurant included in the package.

Day 5: Houtskar - Korpo (44km + ferry between hotels, + additional cycling according to own wishes)
One relaxing ferry journey today before exploring another small island. We direct guests to some local eating places and local sights. Dinner tonight is a fantastic local tasting menu provided by top local chef.

Day 6: Korpo - Naantali (62 km + ferries)
Returning to Nauvo harbour by quiet backroads, take the next ferry journey, this time to the north. This is the longest ferry of the tour, and serves lunch on-board. Continuing the ride by our off-the-beaten track route, crossing numerous small islands linked by bridges, the overnight destination is Naantali, an idyllic harbour village of cobbled streets and old wooden houses. There is a selection of local restaurants around the harbour to choose from for dinner.

Day 7: Naantali – Turku (36 km)
The final cycling day of the tour, is the shortest of the trip, and guests can choose to have some free time in Naantali, or in Turku at the end. Our route visits the island of Ruissalo, and although close to the city it's a beautiful place, sprinkled with hidden local cafes. After arriving back to Turku it's time to return the bicycles.

Day 8: Turku – Helsinki (train)
Return to Helsinki by train after a last breakfast in Turku and then make your way to the airport by train or taxi for your flight home.

Important Notes:
- Suitcases can be left without charge at the start/end hotel. Panniers are spacious, or you can choose to have luggage transferred for a supplement.
- This is a self-guided cycling tour. Each guest receives full route as downloadable .GPX files plus a Route Information Leaflet including ferry timings. There is no guide included. On most departures there will be other guests cycling.
