Estonia Holiday Packages: Set Tours and Tailor-Made Travel Options

(5/5) based on 66 reviews
  Estonia Holidays

Estonia is a fascinating Baltic nation, with over 2,300 tiny islands, many uninhabited, and huge stretches of forests and national parks that are the reason the country has among the cleanest air in Europe. The medieval architecture of Tallinn's Old Town is in stark contrast to the spectacular sandy beaches in Pärnu, creating a mix of culture, nature, and coastal experiences every traveller should see.

The Baltic Travel Company's Estonia holiday packages are designed to ensure every guest sees the best the country has to offer, whether you want to relax in a traditional sauna, venture around the islands, or book a luxury city break with gourmet dining.

We often speak with guests who haven't considered Estonia before, or who want a peaceful escape away from the crowds and noise of the busiest destinations – and as a place with a low population density, even Estonia's largest cities allow you to take your holiday at your own pace.

We’ve summarised just a few highlights based on the types of Estonian tour packages our guests most often chose.

City Breaks and Cultural Tours in Tallinn

Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, is an astonishing city, with its UNESCO World Heritage Old Town, festive Christmas markets and cultural attractions such as Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. This historic Orthodox church dates back to the 19th century.

Visitors can roam the ancient city walls and cobblestone streets, climb to the peak of Toompea Hill, or enjoy the art and culture in locations such as Telliskivi Creative City, packed with local restaurants, exhibitions and independent boutiques.

Countryside and Coastal Holidays in Estonia

Estonia’s expansive forests, islands and coastlines offer an escape for guests who want to unwind and get back to nature, with Pärnu beach resort a popular summer destination for visitors to make the most of the sandy beaches, clear water, and waterside cocktail bars.

Our Estonia travel packages are equally suited to those wanting to visit the historical manors dotted around the countryside, or who have always wanted to head to the islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa. They’ll find beautiful small villages, and the famous lighthouses, with both islands recognised as UNESCO Biosphere reserves.

Guided Tours and Coach Holidays in Estonia

Spacious, well-appointed coach trips are a great choice for guests who like the convenience and ease of being escorted around curated stops and excursions. Additionally, you can opt for palace and manor tours, which offer a chance to see the stunning architecture and grandeur of these fantastic buildings.

Seasonal Estonia Vacation Packages

Your choice of Estonia package holidays may be influenced by the time of year you're most able to travel, or the weather and excursions you consider most important during your free time. We've collated highlights from summer, winter, spring, and autumn escapes to give you an idea of what to expect during each season.

Summer Holidays in Estonia

Estonia’s summers are long and warm, with extended hours of daylight that mean you can soak in the tranquillity during a lakeside or coastal escape, spend hours exploring nature and the landscapes, or head to the beach for a holiday of sun, sailing, swimming and kayaking.

The sunny days in Eastern Europe never reach the sweltering heights further south, which also makes the summer a great time of year for cultural tours, visiting Toompea Hill and Castle in Tallinn, enjoying evening drinks al fresco, or visiting Pärnu, Estonia’s summer capital.

Estonia Winter Holidays and Christmas Packages

From the Christmas markets in Tallinn to the extravagance of New Year's Eve balls and galas, winter sees Estonia often dusted with snow, and guests can enjoy a hot sauna or glass of glögi, or mulled wine, to warm up after a day of sightseeing and shopping in Tallinn Old Town.

Winter is also a brilliant time for active holidays in Estonia, with excursions that range from snowy hikes to ice skating in the city squares, dog sledding in the countryside, and skiing. Winter packages are available to Otepää, close to no less than three great local ski centres.

Spring and Autumn Cultural Escapes

During the quieter periods in the spring and autumn, Estonia's cities and resorts become even more serene. Although the country is already less crowded than many conventional destinations, these seasons are ideal for travellers who want Estonia tourism packages designed for rest.

Choose from spa and wellness retreats in the beauty of the spring colours or autumn foliage, explore Tallinn at its most peaceful, or schedule a walking tour around the national parks with time set aside to visit festivals like Spring Day and Maarjalaat in Tartu, a traditional autumn fair.

Estonia Holiday Highlights from Our Travellers

Still undecided about which Estonia vacation packages to choose? We've gathered some insights from real guests to help you pick:

  • Mike said that a highlight was learning about the culture and history of the places he visited with local guides, telling us that, ‘Our guide, Janis, could not have been more helpful. He was friendly, approachable, well organised and very professional, as was our guide for the morning in Tallinn, Herman. Please pass our thanks on to them both.’

  • Annette travelled to Tallinn in the spring and said, 'The hotel was excellent and the spa area really spacious. We enjoyed the KGB museum on the top floor of the Hotel Viru with a very lively guide who had lived through the soviet era, so could describe the atmosphere very convincingly.’

  • Anthony loved the architecture of Tallinn, reporting back that, 'I think my highlight was probably The Modern Art Museum, but also how charming the medieval part of Tallinn is as well.’

You’ll find full reviews, recommendations and ideas about which excursions our guests would repeat in the testimonials via the Baltic Travel Company site, or can, of course, contact our friendly team if you'd like more personalised advice.

1. Does the Baltic Travel Company offer both fixed itinerary and tailor-made Estonia holidays?

Whether you’d like a weekend in Tallinn, a fly-drive adventure, or a relaxing spa retreat on Saaremaa, our expert team of travel enthusiasts will build a trip that fits your ideal travel style.

2. What are the most popular experiences on Estonian holidays?
While your favourite excursions and adventures will depend on the time of the year you travel, and the type of Estonia trip you choose, top highlights for many guests include exploring Tallinn’s medieval Old Town and visiting Toompea Castle and Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

Other visitors love the luxury of a spa break in Saaremaa and hiking in Soomaa National Park. We’d also recommend visiting Estonia’s unspoiled coastlines, stopping off on islands like Hiiumaa, and seeing the festive charm of Tallinn’s Christmas Market.

3. Can I combine Estonia with other Baltic countries?
Absolutely. Many of our guests enjoy multi-country trips that include Latvia, Lithuania, and even Finland or Sweden. We create detailed itineraries to ensure all your transfers and connections are well-organised, taking you between coastal towns and capital cities, with comfortable transport and support from expert guides.

4. Are there spa and wellness holidays available in Estonia?
Estonia is known for its wonderful spa culture, particularly in coastal destinations like Pärnu and Saaremaa. We offer all-inclusive spa breaks ranging from luxury wellness resorts to laid-back beachside escapes with indulgent treatments and saunas.

5. What kind of support will I receive during my Estonia holiday?
All our Estonia packages include 24/7 UK-based emergency support and in-destination assistance. Guests often comment on our seamless coordination, clear communication, and friendly guides who help ensure their trips run smoothly from start to finish.

6. Is Estonia a good destination for a winter break or Christmas market trip?
We often suggest Estonia as a fantastic location for festive, snowy getaways! Tallinn transforms into a fairy-tale destination during the Christmas season, and you can browse the Tallinn Christmas Market, with its twinkling lights, mulled wine, and Nordic winter charm. Winter is also a great time for cosy spa breaks and cultural tours.

7. Can I explore Estonia’s islands and nature?
Definitely! Our Estonia holidays can include visits to Saaremaa and Hiiumaa islands, both known for their natural beauty, lighthouses, and quiet coastal villages. Inland, Soomaa National Park offers wildlife, forest trails, and canoeing adventures.

8. Are Estonian holidays suitable for families or couples?
Yes. Estonia is an excellent choice for both romantic getaways and family trips! Couples often choose spa and city break combination holidays, while families prioritise nature-based activities, medieval castles, and Estonia’s safe, clean, and welcoming beaches.

9. What type of accommodation is included in your Estonia packages?
We carefully select each accommodation option based on comfort, location, and character. Many guests look for centrally located hotels in Tallinn, spa resorts by the coast, and charming island guesthouses with the option to arrange upgrades and special stays.

10. How customisable are your Estonia travel packages?
Our tailor-made trips are entirely flexible and designed according to your preferences. Whether you’d like to explore at a more leisurely pace, include unique experiences like a private walking tour, or add an art or museum visit, our team can adjust every detail to your wishes.

11. Can I book a cultural or food-focused tour in Estonia?
You can! Estonia has a rich cultural heritage, spanning medieval history, Soviet architecture, local artisanal crafts, and New Nordic cuisines. Guests often enjoy trying traditional dishes like pirukas, small savoury pastries, and mulgi kapsad, a pork and sauerkraut stew, or browsing the delicacies and regional dishes at the local food markets with an experienced guide.

12. What’s the best time of year to visit Estonia?
Estonia’s landscapes and coastlines are beautiful year-round, but the Summer season from June until August is ideal for exploring the national parks, island hopping, and sun-soaked beach holidays. Winter, which is roughly from late November until February, is something completely different, with snowy charm and festive markets. If your perfect holiday is all about peace and tranquillity, spring and early autumn will be ideal, with fewer crowds while you explore Estonia’s culture and scenery.

13. How long should I spend in Estonia?
A city break in Tallinn works well over roughly three to four days, which is just enough time to see all the most popular sites, architecture and attractions. For an extended Estonia holiday, including the countryside or islands, we’d recommend you spend at least seven to ten days, especially if you’re one of the many travellers who wish to combine Estonia with neighbouring countries as part of a Baltic adventure.

14. Will I receive a quote and itinerary before booking?
Of course, after we receive your initial enquiry, we’ll put together a detailed quote and draft itinerary, and aim to have this back to you as quickly as we can, often within 24 hours. Guests regularly comment on our fast responses, transparent pricing, and thoughtful travel suggestions, which makes planning their next holiday easy and stress-free!

15. Why book your Estonia holiday with the Baltic Travel Company?
With over 15 years of experience and a huge depth of regional knowledge, we offer every guest expert planning support, access to tours with trusted local guides, the flexibility to customise their trips, and the personal service we are known for. Many of our returning guests highlight our attention to detail, first-hand travel experience, and how well-supported their holidays are from start to finish.

Very impressed with the organisation and speedy response to my queries

Hello Daina

Many thanks for your email.

We had a wonderful holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Baltic countries.  The highlight, I guess, was learning about the histories of the various countries that we visited, and seeing at first hand the differences between the four capital cities and their people.  Each was unique, so it’s difficult to pick out any particular highlight.  The weather was also kind, and was bright and sunny most of the trip with only a couple of days of wet weather.

Our guide, Janis could not have been more helpful.  He was friendly, approachable, well organised and very professional, as was our guide for the morning in Tallinn, Herman.  Please pass our thanks on to them both.  We’re most grateful.

Your and Baltic Travel’s planning and organisation was superb.  Every step of the programme ran like clockwork, and we knew we were in safe hands.  Thank you.

I’ve enclosed one photo - of many - from our trip… from a coffee stop on the outskirts of Pärnu.

Best wishes

Mike

Privet!

It was a good trip for me. The arrangements you made for me were spot on. No issues whatsoever. All of the tour guides were exceptional except for one. He is young and I am sure will get much better as time goes by. Very nice person. Just not much provided on information compared to the others. Hotels were good.  I didn’t go to the optional dinner in Tallinn, but the people who went were very disappointed in it. Meal was not so good and they thought there would be some type of entertainment which did not happen. Spanish speaking people were very disappointed in their Moscow guide.
I am very satisfied with the job you did. Don’t suppose you have something for me next year with Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine?

Hi Daina

Thanks for asking and we did indeed have a wonderful time. Your recommendations worked perfectly! I'll send you some photos from my phone but here are the highlights:

Helsinki: Allas Pool. We went on the first day in the sunshine, into the heated pool to swim and into both saunas. We really enjoyed it especially the indoor sauna with enormous picture window. It was mostly local people using it which we appreciated. Reasonably priced, friendly and in a brilliant spot. The salmon soup in Story afterwards was excellent! We also walked around the promontory before our swim and saw three of the icebreaker fleet moored up. I'd found a great book in the library beforehand, Icebreaker: A Voyage Far North by Horatio Clare. It was a good way to prepare.

The ferries were both very efficient, well-equipped and easily accessible. A good way to travel.

Tallinn: Interesting and good to be there when there were fewer people than the summer. The hotel was excellent and the spa area really spacious. We enjoyed the KGB museum on the top floor of the Hotel Viru with a very lively guide who had lived through the soviet era so could describe the atmosphere very convincingly. Two nights was enough to explore fully. Also ate at a great restaurant Rataskaevu 16. Locally sourced food, excellently prepared, relaxed and hip.

Stockholm: Downtown Camper couldn't have been better. They gave us a cheap upgrade so we had four windows and loads of space overlooking the square. Loved the whole atmosphere and breakfasts. We attended two small afternoon concerts, sourced through google, so mixed with the Stockholm classical crowd and saw inside really interesting venues, both easily accessible from the Camper. Enjoyed wandering through Gamla Stan in light snow, the only fall we saw the whole time!

Happy to offer more detailed feedback on anything specific if you'd like to know. I'll send the photos separately directly from my phone.

Thanks again. We had a brilliant holiday!!
