A fabulous glittering collection of Faberge eggs, once owned by the Tsars, is a apopular new attraction in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Faberge Museum holds several painted, jewelled and enamel painted eggs. The collection also includes an egg from the last Tsar Nicholas II which he gave to his mother, Maria Fyodorovna. The Faberge egg presents Nicholas' portrait together with his son and heir, Alexei.

This new museum in Russia features over 4,000 works of decorative and fine art from the late 19th and early 20th century, including gold and silver items and paintings, as well as items made of porcelain and bronze.  The privately owned museum is located in the restored Shuvalovsky Palace in St. Petersburg, the former 'House of Friendship'.
