  Bro Hof Golf

Henrik Stenson, Annika Sorenstam; Jesper Parnevik; Anna Nordqvist: I could fill this whole section with a list of Swedish golfers. So where did these PGA stars learn their game? With a Golf Federation founded in 1904 and over 450 courses, this is obviously not a modern revolution, but the game is constantly evolving.

40 miles north-west of Stockholm, Bro Hof Stott is rated the top course in Sweden and has hosted the Scandanavian Masters since 2010. Two Championship courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. give this world class golf club an ideal juxtaposiiton to its beauiful setting on Lake Malaren. The Stadium Course, opened in 2007, is a real monster measuring over 8,000 yards from the black tees reserved for competitions and professionals. The Castle Course is shorter, but no less challenging with a links feel to its tough bunkers and narrow fairways.

For a more "ancient' feel and traditional links golf, try Falsterbo, first opened in 1909 with 18 holes from 1930. Designed by local Doctor Gunner Bauer with a sympathetic update by golf course architect, Peter Nordwall, in the 1990s, Falsterbo is located in a famous nature reserve called Flommen. Falsterbo is famous for migratory bird patterns and visited by ornothologists from all over the world. Water on three sides makes this a tough course to play, but the 11th hole is rated in the top 500 greatest golf holes and the seaside climate renders it playable throughout the year.

We know Sweden and we will take you there.

Barseback Golf Break

Barseback Resort was built in 2003 for the Solheim Cup and offers Scandinavian design in light rooms. Barseback has its own golf courses, such as the Masters course, which is a delightful mix of wooded holes ringed with wind sculpted pines, open fairway holes and beautiful links holes overlooking Öresund. All with fantastic Penn A4 greens.

More about The Golf factory of Sweden

Annansdaggolf involves ice skates on a frozen course. Jacob Grahn wasn't going to let snow and ice stop him from indulging his favourite pursuit - catch it on youtube - of course, other videosites are available.
