The Northern Lights, also called Aurora Borealis, bring a certain magical touch to you holiday in Sweden. The uncertainty they bring and the cosmic nature of intense colours, including blues, greens and yellows, dancing in ribbons across the night sky, make them a major attraction for holidays in Swedish Lapland. The good news are they are all created by Nature.

The Northern Lights can be seen across Lapland from September to April and this season is supposed to be the magical seen for years. Other activities like iceskating, icefishing, snowmobiling, huskydog sledding, reindeer spotting, snowshoeing, skiing can keep you busy are days while you in excitement wait for the evenings to see the magical lights.

The best conditions to watch them are during all the phases of the moon  but the full moon can hide some of the effects, so either side of full moon is recognised as the best time to see the Northern Lights.
