This hotel Merihove in Kemi was built just after the 2nd World War. Prominent guests like Urho Kekkonen, Mauno Koivisto, and Yuri Gagarin have stayed here. After a huge renovation the hotel reopened in 1999. The hotel offers various types of rooms, sauna (a must ofcourse in a Finnish hotel), restaurants, cafe and a Night Bar and Club and even rock 'n roll music during the weekends.
