Riga to the shores of the
Baltic Sea, where you visit
Liepaja, former home of one of the Soviet Union's major naval bases. Cross the border in to Lithuania for a stop in the sea side resort town of
Palanga, before heading to the famous natural landmark, the
Curonian Spit. This 60 mile long sand dune covered with fragrant pines and is dotted with quaint fishing villages. Continue on to
Vilnius and its beautiful baroque Old Town. Visit the
Hill of Crosses on your way back to Latvia. After crossing the border to Latvia, make a stop at
Rundale Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland.

Itinerary:
Day 1 - Arrive in Riga airport and pick up rental car. Check-in at a hotel in Riga. Free time in Riga, the capital of Latvia with a UNESCO listed Old Town. Overnight at 3* Konventa Seta or 4* Gutenbergs.
Day 2 - Breakfast in the hotel. Drive: Riga – Liepaja (220 km). Stop at the seaside resort of Jurmala, with its huge sandy blue-flag beach. Continue to the movie town of Cinevilla, where you will have the
opportunity to walk around a live film set. Check-in at a hotel in Liepaja. Free time in Liepaja. Overnight at 3* Liva or 4* Kolumbs.
Day 3 - Breakfast in the hotel. Take a walk though Liepaja, the second largest city in Latvia, and pay a visit to the former Soviet naval port of Karosta. Drive: Liepaja – Palanga – Klaipeda (100 km). Visit the lively Lithuanian seaside resort of Palanga and then continue your journey to the port city of Klaipeda. If you like shopping, then go to the large shopping centre Akropolis. Overnight at 3* Reval Inn or 4* Europa Royale.
Day 4 - Breakfast in the hotel. Drive: Klaipeda – Nida – Klaipeda (100 km). Cross the Curonian Lagoon by ferry to reach the nature reserve of the Curonian Spit – lush parks, small villages and beautiful sand dunes. When you reach Nida, take a stroll or a cycle through this beautiful town with its distinct wooden houses and fantastic restaurants. En-route to or from Klaipeda, if time permits, pay a visit to the only Dolphinarium in the Baltics. Overnight at 3* Reval Inn or 4* Europa Royale.
Day 5 - Breakfast in the hotel. Drive: Klaipeda – Kaunas – Vilnius (310 km). Break the journey to Vilnius, by making a stop in the former capital of Lithuania, Kaunas. Continue the journey to Vilnius. Check-in at a hotel in Vilnius. Free time in Vilnius. Overnight at 3* Comfort or 4* Artis.
Day 6 - Breakfast in the hotel. Drive: Vilnius – Siauliai – Bauska (308 km). Enjoy the beautiful Old Town of Vilnius with its fine buildings and narrow streets. Today’s route takes you to the Hill of Crosses and then onwards to visit the magnificent 18th Century Rundale Palace, once the summer residence of the Duke of Courland. Overnight at 3* Day & Night Hotel (no 4* star option availabile in Bauska).
Day 7 - Breakfast in the hotel. Drive: Bauska – Riga (67 km). Time at leisure in Riga depending on flight departure time. Drop off rental car at Riga airport. Depart Riga.
