Trollstigen is Norway's one of the most visited scenic tourist roads on the Norwegian Scenic Route. The 11 hairpin turns of Trollstigen in a steep incline of 9 percent offer various highlights and thrilling moments. The road used to serve as a significant transport route between the mountain villages. Today it thrills many tourists looking for magnificent views over the mighty mountains and fjords. 

Trollstigen Mountain Road is part of the Norwegian Scenic Route Geiranger - Trollstigen. This 106-kilometre route runs between Lake Strynefjell and the Soffe Bridge in Fjord Norway. The route from Trollstigen to the end of Geirangerfjorden includes many natural sights from thrilling mountainsides, deep fjords, mountains and valleys. The route has intrigued many people to see its beauty.

Trollstigen has been one of the highlights for tourists since 1939 when the road first opened. The road is an indication of skilled engineering and road building as at some parts of the road it has been built in stone or carved straight into the mountain. The many engineers have also left their mark in Geiranger where many roads have viewpoints offering stunning views.
