Snorkeling in Silfra

By Iceland

The Silfra Fissure is where the American and Eurasian continental plates have divided, making this diving experience a bicontinental one. These waters are coveted due to their 100m visibility and their cleanliness - you can even drink the water whilst you dive!

This experience is open to anyone capable of swimming (excluding pregnant women), and is a must when visiting Iceland. The fissure is located in the Thingvellir National Park, where you can also enjoy the Golden Circle.

More about Snorkeling in Silfra

For those both interested in nature and those not, the many species of algae and some fish provide a colourful and picturesque landscape throughout the dive.

Although the water is cold, remaining around 3 degrees Celsius year round, dry suits are provided which contain thermo undergarments to keep you warm and dry.
