In the present day, Riga Castle acts as the home and the office of the President of Latvia. Built on the banks of the river Daugava, the castle has a strategic location. The castle is open everyday, though some parts are restricted given the presence of the President’s residence. The Latvian Museum of Foreign Art is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
