{"id":6020,"date":"2025-07-22T16:03:56","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T16:03:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/blog\/?p=6020"},"modified":"2025-07-23T10:48:44","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T10:48:44","slug":"nikolas-journey-baltic-highlights-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/blog\/index.php\/uncategorized\/nikolas-journey-baltic-highlights-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Nikola\u2019s Journey: Baltic Highlights Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this month, I had the wonderful opportunity to experience one of our most popular escorted tours in the Baltics: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/packages\/baltic-highlights-deluxe\/\"><strong data-start=\"322\" data-end=\"348\">Baltic Highlights Tour<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The tour begins in Vilnius, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/lithuania-holidays\/\">Lithuania<\/a>, then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/blog\/index.php\/latvia\/short-visit-to-riga-and-latvian-countryside\/\">travels through<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/attractions\/riga\/\">Riga<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/latvia-holidays\/\">Latvia<\/a>, and finishes in Tallinn, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/estonia-holidays\/\">Estonia<\/a>. Trakai Castle, set on an island in Lake Galve, was a real highlight. Inside, we explored its beautifully restored and richly decorated rooms, brought to life by our excellent local guide, <strong>Olafs<\/strong>. On our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltictravelcompany.com\/guided-tours\/\">guided tour<\/a>, we wandered through narrow lanes and historic squares, passing landmarks such as <strong>Toompea Castle<\/strong>, the striking <strong>Alexander Nevsky Cathedral<\/strong>, the <strong>Dome Church<\/strong> and the medieval <strong>Town Hall Square<\/strong>. Inspired by old Estonian traditions, the dinner brought everyone together around long tables, just as locals would have gathered centuries ago, complete with live medieval entertainment and even a sword fight!
