St. Petersburg City Breaks
St Petersburg Feedback
18 Sep 2008 - Everything was very good indeed, we were delighted with all the service we received and the Hotel Astoria and tours. Your personal service was of the highest standard and Irena, our guide in St Petersburg, was equally first class. We had a great trip and its so nice to come back and only be able to say good things about the experience.
Thank you, Irena in St Petersburg and anyone behind the scene who helped to make our trip and plans faultless. We will certainly recomend your company and be happy to give any recomendation should any customer approach you for a satisfied client.
28 Aug 2008 - Hi Tina; I am delghted to report that our visit to St Petersburg was a complete success, thanks to your thorough advance planning.
Our guide was exceptional; always on time, with a happy smile. Very knowledgeable on all aspects of the history of St Petersburg and able to get us admitted to all the venues, right at the head of all the many hundred of people waiting their turn to be admitted. Only one very minor criticism; although her English was excellent, she had a quiet voice and it was sometimes difficult to hear what she was saying, especially whilst we were travelling in the car.
Our driver was also first class. Battling his way through the constant road holdups, knowing 'back doubles' so that we were not left sitting for ages in a line of traffic. Again, he was always on time and made a point of getting out of the car at every stop to make sure that the road was clear for us to alight from the back seats.
All in all, a First Class Holiday and we shall have no hesitation in recommending your services to friends and family.
26 Aug 2008 - Hi Daina, I would like to thank you for all your help. Everything was perfectly organized. I’m very happy with all the help you provided. I’ll recommend your traveling agency to other friends and business partners in case they need to travel to Russia or Baltic countries.
23 Aug 2008 - I thought I should write to you to thank you for the trip. The arrangements were first class, the airport pick up was fine, the Hotel Angleterre was great, the staff polite and helpful and its location could not be better. St Petersburg is a splendid, historic place with many fine buildings, the only problem we had (apart from sore feet!) was that there was so much to see we will have to return. Once again, thank you for your assistance.
12 Aug 2008 - On behalf of my husband and daughter we were all delighted with our first trip to Russia. St Petersburg the city was beautiful and sunny, there was lots to do and see, and the people were friendly. The arrangements were very smooth – flights and transfers and the Grand Hotel Europe exceeded our expectations.
11 Aug 2008 - Thank you Daina - it was a very enjoyable holiday (even with a couple of VERY wet days in the city). Both local guides were very good and very friendly. Both very knowledgable and gave the right amount of information both on sights, as well as times and places for the tours. It was very enjoyable without much to point out as wrong.
16 Jul 2008 - We wanted to take a moment to thank you sincerely for the excellent arrangements you and your company made - everything worked out exactly as you had promised, and we had a superb holiday. I won't bore you with superlatives about Moscow and St.Petersburg - you know that already. And the two Intourist guides - Sacha in Moscow and Svetlana in St. P'burg, were excellent. And thank you for the address for the Mariinsky theatre - as you said, it took a bit of searching to find the the office on Nevsky Prospct. But it was well worth it - we saved a few pounds, but the ballet was just magical! We both enjoyed the stay in Tallinn, and it was an 'experience' to cross the border with Russia by road.
We are both agreed it was a really memorable holiday for all the right reasons, and we will have no hesitation in recommending you and your company to our friends. Thanks again.
10 Jul 2008 - We had a lovely holiday in St Petersburg. I do, however, have a complaint about our room. The Herzen House Hotel's description of "1 Superior Twin Room + Extra Bed" was not accurate. The room was really a standard double room - the alcove that would normally house the double bed was used for the twin beds which resulted in there being no space at all between the twin beds. The "Extra Bed" was in fact an armchair sofa bed which was very hard and uncomfortable and every time one turned over, the bottom sheet wrapped around the person as it was not possible to tuck in the sheet. It was also impossible to sit up in this bed as it would fold up! After speaking to reception, a thin mattress for the top of the sofa bed was supplied which made it marginally more comfortable & also made it possible to tuck in the bottom sheet. We were disappointed as the description lead us to believe we would be getting a much better room than we had - we felt it was not a "superior twin" with an extra "bed" but a standard room which was designed to house a double bed, not twin beds + a very hard & uncomfortable armchair sofa bed.
Apart from this we very much enjoyed the central position of the hotel, the staff were very pleasant & helpful, we appreciated the 24 hr availability of tea & coffee and the cleaning was to a high standard. Our tour guide Christina was excellent as was her driver and the transfers to & from the airport.
Thank you for all your help & advice prior to our holiday. Your work prior to our trip ensured everything ran smoothly so that we had a wonderful holiday in St Petersburg during the White Nights!
16 May 2008 - Hi we did have a nice time. The arrangements worked fine although I would not recommend anyone flies from Cardiff, as the wait in Amsterdam was long. Also the taxi driver collected us early therefore we had three hours to wait at the airport in St Petersberg when we left, therefore the day was very long with the time difference. The Hotel Dostoevsky was nice and comfortable.
We found the people of the city very rushed and no one smiled at all. I have travelled in Northern Europe previously and I guess the psyche of the people from the former Soviet Union is very different from Southern Europe or elsewhere in the world. Still the buildings and museums were very good.
26 March 2008 - Thank you - we had a great trip but unfortunately not long enough. The Angleterre Hotel was perfectly located and a great base for our many walks. It was good to be met at the airport by a friendly taxi driver, and to be taken back - although we were asked to leave at 13.45 which turned out to be a little early as we had to then wait 45 minutes before being allowed to check in, though of course check-in takes quite a long time so we had very little time once we had gone through the various security procedures. I guess it is quite normal but it took at least an hour to get through passport control on arrival at St Petersburg - nothing you could have done about this though!
The hotel was quiet and relaxing and my son made good use of the fitness centre. The bedrooms were good and we had everything we needed. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent with plenty of choice and we also enjoyed the room service which was good, as well as the bar in the evening. I do think St Petersburg has become much more expensive since we were last there just over two years ago and taxis are very expensive - especially from the hotel.
We booked tickets to the Mariinsky ballet before we left the UK and although we did not get the tickets we had requested we very much enjoyed the ballet, although from a great height!
Even the weather was perfect - sun at first and then snow, which was just right.
We thought the value of the package we booked through Baltic Travel was excellent - thank you for all your help. We would definitely recommend the company and would come back to you if we decide to go again. My husband visits Moscow quite often so maybe you could help with his travel arrangements in the future.
29 Oct 2007 - The travel arrangements were absolutely fine. The flight to St Petersburg was on time and only about half full. They served a very good meal on board. On arrival at St Petersburg were were met by the taxi transfer exactly as arranged. The Petro Palace Hotel was in an excellent location, couldn't have been better, the theatre tickets were waiting for us at reception just as you said they would be, and the room was comfortable and very satisfactory.
The city itself knocked us out with its architecture and ambience. A highlight was visiting the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan and finding a service going on. As we are both musicians, we were particularly bowled over by the singing. The ballet at the Mariinsky was spectacular, and as for the rest - Hermitage, Church on Spilled Blood, Palace Square, Peter & Paul Fortress, St Isaac's, the statue of the Bronze Horseman, and so on and so on - words fail me - it was all wonderful. We were totally worn out with all the walking!
Our transfer back to the airport was waiting at the hotel as arranged and we reluctantly left the city. Everything at the airport went smoothly and we took off on time.
An excellent holiday, no time to explore everything we wanted to so we're definitely going back sometime. We shall certainly be booking with your company when we do. Your service is excellent with a lovely personal touch. Couldn't be better! Thank you for arranging everything so efficiently.
07 Feb 2007 - Daina ,just a thank you for organising our wonderful trip to St. Petersburg. The Moika Kempinski Hotel, ballet and travel guide were all top quality , it was impossible to fault anything. Thanks again...
14 Jul 2006 - We really enjoyed our trip to St. Petersburg and we have you to thank for arranging that. The lady who met us at the airport, Julia, was very helpful. We also used her services on 2 days as a guide to take us around the Hermitage and to Catherine's Palace. We would have no hesitation in recommending hers and your services to our friends in the future. We also visited Peterhof, Church of Spilled Blood, Peter & Paul Fortress, Kirov's museum on our own. All the sights were pretty amazing and definitely worth visiting. We found it pretty
The Hotel Vevsky 22 was as expected I guess for a 3 star hotel, and the location was excellent. However they have a doorbell which can ring all night and could be heard from our room.
Overall we were very satisfied with our trip.
