A blue light is glowing through the pure white snow. Soft noises are travelling in the air and the smell of the camp fires create a cosy atmosphere – this is the Ice Music Festival! Every year ice maniacs are coming to the small mountain village of Geilo in the middle of Norway to create this unique event. All instruments are made out of ice and singers from all over the world are supporting the ice musician Terje Isungset with his virtuoso sounds. An experience you will never forget!

DAY 1: OSLO
Upon arrival in Oslo, take the airport express train to city centre (15 min, 170 - 200 NOK). Oslo has been Norway’s capital for more then 700 years. The history of the town, dates back to the middle ages, and the first constructions date back to the year 1000. Oslo is located at the end of the Oslo fjord, and the city is surrounded by forest.
In the evening you will meet the ice for the first time. Don’t be afraid! It will welcome you with a nice drink as you visit the Ice Bar. Enjoy one of Oslo’s coolest and most impressive bars! On the menu you will find only the best Norwegian ingredients. The Ice Bar will provide you with a warm poncho and gloves, so there is no freezing during the 45 min you can spend here.

DAY 2: OSLO - GEILO, ICE MUSIC FESTIVAL
Enjoy a Scandinavian breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure by the scenic Bergen Railway to Geilo. The mountain village Geilo is a great place to experience the Norwegian winter. After arrival check-in in the hotel and get ready for the night. Shuttle to the festival venue from Geilo centre. In the evening the ice experience will continue as the Ice Music Festival open its gates and welcomes you inside the igloo. Before you enter, enjoy a delicious dinner with local ingredients in Kikutkroa, right next to the venue of the festival. After that have a seat on one of the reindeer skins covering the arena. They will protect you from the cold…so no distraction from the purity of the ice music. Just relax and get lost in music. After concert shuttle to Geilo centre.

DAY 3: GEILO, ICE MUSIC FESTIVAL
Enjoy a Scandinavian breakfast at the hotel. This morning you have the opportunity to make use of the winter village Geilo. There are a total of 39 Alpine slopes to enjoy, including everything from advanced black slopes to children's slopes. In addition you will find terrain parks, cross-country ski tracks and real wilderness experiences on the mountain plateau Hardangervidda. In the afternoon it is time to enter the world of ice again. Start with the Bill Covitz show! The award-winning ice sculptor will show what he can make out of a block of ice in just 20 min. Why don’t you think of something and challenge him? Time at leisure before the Ice Music Festival reaches its highlight. Terje Isungset will take you into the world of the ice queen with his meditating sounds, before you will enjoy a dinner with local ingredients. Now it is time for the big moment. At midnight the full moon concert will start, showing you which sounds a simple block of ice can produce. It’s pure magic! After the concert shuttle to Geilo centre.

DAY 4: GEILO - OSLO
Breakfast in the hotel. After your journey to the ice, you deserve a relaxing day today. Make use of the Spa treatments and swimming pool the hotel has to offer. You don’t have enough of the cold yet? Just hit the slopes again! In the afternoon you will leave Geilo by train heading back to Oslo Station where you can change for the Airport Express train back to Oslo Gardermoen airport. Departure flight.
