Visit some of Latvia and Estonia's finest estates and enjoy the flexibility of a fly / drive holiday If you are interested in a bit of culture and history about the Baltics, then this is the holiday for you. You will get to see some fantastic palaces and estates and have a chance to stay over night in some grand accommodations along the way.

The tour also takes you through Riga and Tallinn, the historic capitals of Latvia and Estona. You will also visit the charming small towns of Cesis, Rakvere and Tartu. The route takes you through two fabulous national parks, Gauja National Park in central Latvia and the Lahemaa National Park on the northern coast of Estonia.

Package price is from £535pp and based on availability and two people sharing a double or twin room.

Package includes:

  • Direct flights from London to Riga (we can arrange connecting flights from other airports upon request).
  • 3 nights accommodation in 3* hotels in Riga (1 night), Tartu (1 night) and Tallinn (1 night)
  • 3 nights accommodation in palaces or manors as mentioned in itinerary
  • Breakfast at hotels, palaces and manor houses
  • AVIS  B class car hire for 7 days

Day 1 - Arrive in Riga and pick up rental car at the airport. Free time in Riga.  Overnight in a 3* hotel in Riga.

Day 2 - Breakfast at the hotel.  Drive: Riga – Birini – Igate (70 km, 100% Asphalt).  Overnight in Igate Palace.

Day 3 - Breakfast at the castle.  Drive: Igate – Limbaži - Straupe – Ungurmuiža – Cesis - Dikli (120 km, 100% Asphalt).  The route leads through the Gauja national park which is situated on the both sides of the ancient river-valley of the river Gauja. Sandstone cliffs and holes and dense forests are typical for the park.   Overnight in the Diklu Manor.

Day 4 - Breakfast at the castle.  Drive: Dikli – Valmiera - Naukšeni – Taagepera - Sangaste - Otepää – Tartu (230 km, 90% Asphalt, 10% gravel road).  Arrive in Tartu In the evening. Visit the first Baltic university and the old observatory on the top of Toomemägi hill.  Overnight in a hotel in Tartu.

Day 5 - Breakfast at the hotel.  Drive: Tartu - Alatsikvi – Rakvere – Lahemaa Nationalpark (~ 200 km, 100% Asphalt).  Overnight in Vihula Manor.

Day 6 - Breakfast at the manor.  Drive: Lahemaa National park – Tallinn (~ 135 km, 100% Asphalt).
The route leads along the northern Baltic sea coast of Estonia through the oldest Baltic national park – Lahemaa.  Overnight in a 3* hotel in Tallinn.

Day 7 - Breakfast at the hotel.  Drive back to Riga (330 km).  Return car at Riga International Airport, departure from Riga.  Or return car in Tallinn Airport, departure from Tallinn.  Check Flight Times to Riga
