Trondheim, the former capital of Norway. From Trondheim you will have the chance to take the
Coastal Express cruise to Bergen and see the stunning Norwegian coastline. Bergen itself is surrounded by
fjords and mountains and it is well worth taking a ride on the
funicular to Mount Fløien where you will have a spectacular view of the town and the fjords below. Continue your journey to
Vik and Geilo, before arriving to Gardemoen where your journey will end. This route includes a
spectacular train journey with Flåm Railway with some of Norway's wildest and most magnificent scenery of
waterfalls, snow-capped mountains and mountain farms.

Norwegian Fjord Experience ItineraryDAY 1: ARRIVAL IN OSLO Arrive in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Transfer to your hotel. Oslo is situated at the end of the Oslo fjord and is the largest city in Norway with closeness to the nature few other capitals can provide. Afternoon at your own disposal. Walk through Karl Johans gate, leading to the Royal Palace and a walk through Aker Brygge, the beautiful harbour area with lots of shops and restaurants. A visit to the National Art Gallery is also recommended. Accommodation at centrally located Thon Hotel Opera, or similar.
DAY 2: OSLO Breakfast at the hotel. Day at your own leisure. Visit Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Royal Castle, the City Hall, the Parliament Building (Stortinget) or take a trip to Bygdøy to see some of the famous museums, such as the Fram, Kon-Tiki and the Viking Ship museums. It is also recommend to visit the Holmenkollen ski jump arena which offers a scenic view of the city and surrounding area. Accommodation at centrally located Thon Hotel Opera, or similar.
DAY 3: OSLO – LILLEHAMMER Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning train takes you to Lillehammer, the Olympic City of 1994. Visit the Olympic Museum and the Olympic Arena with a beautiful view of the city and lake Mjøsa. Alternatively you can visit the Maihaugen Open Air Museum, containing more than 100 old houses and workshops illustrating the development of rural life in Norway from Viking times until the 19th century. Accommodation at centrally located Rica Victoria Hotel, or similar.
DAY 4: LILLEHAMMER - TRONDHEIM Breakfast at the hotel. Take a morning train to Trondheim. The route goes though the magnificent Gudbrandsdal Valley, with its fast flowing river and waterfalls. Here the train continues through the Dovrefjell National Park and cross the snow-peaked Dovre Mountains, before arriving in Trondheim. Trondheim is the third largest city and former capital of Norway. Visit the Nidaros Cathedral where King Olav Haraldsson was buried by Nidelven, the river Nid, after he was killed in the battle of Stiklestad in 1030. Accommodation at centrally located Rica Nidelven Hotel, or similar.
DAY 5: TRONDHEIM - BERGEN Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own to the quay for your Coastal Express cruise. Embarkation starts at 8 a.m. and at 10 a.m. your ship departs towards Bergen. Accommodation onboard in 2-berth inside cabin.
DAY 6: MOLDE – ÅLESUND – FLORØ - BERGEN
Breakfast onboard. A beautiful journey that takes you along the rugged Norwegian coastline. Along the journey you will pass Kristiansund, Molde, Ålesund and Florø. Arrive in Bergen at 2.30 p.m. and transfer to your hotel. Places worth visit are the famous Bryggen harbour, Rosenkrantz tower and the Håkons hall. It is also possible to take a ride on the funicular to Mount Fløien where you by clear weather will have a spectacular view of the town and the fjords below. Accommodation at centrally located Strand Hotel Bergen, or similar.
DAY 7: BERGEN – VIK (by ferry) Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure from Bergen to Vik with a boat. Arrival in Vik at 1.30 p.m. Afternoon for leisure. Accommodation at Hopstock Hotel, or similar.
DAY 8: VIK – FLÅM RAILWAY – GEILO Breakfast at the hotel. Continue towards Geilo via Flåm and Myrdal with boat and the Flåm Railway. Evening arrival to Geilo. Transfer to your hotel. Accommodation at Highland Hotel, or similar.
DAY 9: GEILO Departure. Breakfast at the hotel. Take a train from Geilo to Gardermoen airport for your flights back home.
