Activity Holidays in Lithuania

Lithuania is probably most famous for its cheap, yet charming capital Vilnius. Although many visitors don't venture beyond the capital, Lithuania still has much to offer for the more intrepid traveller and it is a great destination for people who are looking for a more active holiday.

Lithuania along with its two Baltic neighbours Latvia and Estonia are probably best explored by bike. The terrain in the Baltics is quite gentle and flat meaning that cycling in this region can be enjoyed by cyclists of all ages and levels. Lithuania is home to a number of national parks where you can get away from the stresses of city life and reconnect to nature. We highly recommend a visit to the sand dunes of the Curonian Spit, a narrow spit of land on the Baltic coast, connecting Lithuania with Russia's Kaliningrad region. During your cycling trip, you can also visit Lithuania's smaller towns and cities such as Kaunas, Klaipeda and Palanga and pay a visit to the outstanding island castle of Trakai.

Despite its small size, Lithuania has so much to offer for travellers looking for an active adventure.
